How Our Design Process Works

01 | Consultation

Start your landscape architecture journey by speaking directly with our team to arrange a site meeting.

During your on-site consultation, we’ll explore your ideas, lifestyle needs, design inspiration and budget. We’ll also assess your site conditions, environmental factors and any council requirements that may influence the design.

If helpful, we can include 3D renderings to assist with visualising the proposed outcome.

Following the consultation, you’ll receive a tailored proposal outlining the recommended scope of work, deliverables and associated fees — so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

03 | Design Presentation

When your landscape plan is ready, we meet with you to present the design in detail.

This session gives you the opportunity to understand the design intent, ask questions, provide feedback and discuss any adjustments before moving forward.

To ensure clarity and transparency, we include one complimentary revision within your design package.

02 | Concept Design

Once you’ve accepted your quote, we begin preparing a bespoke landscape design tailored specifically to your property.

Each design responds to your brief, budget and site requirements, ensuring the outcome is both refined and practical.

Your plan package may include an inspiration board, material suggestions and planting recommendations to help you visualise the overall direction. For more complex sites, we also prepare schematic elevation drawings to clarify levels and spatial relationships.

04 | Construction

Our goal is to help you move from design to completion as smoothly as possible.

For Nelson–Tasman projects, we can coordinate a full turnkey construction service through our sister company, NV Landscapes (NVL), including pricing and project delivery. If your design includes a pool, we can also arrange pricing and installation through NV Pools.

Once construction is complete, the NV Maintenance team can provide ongoing care to keep your outdoor space looking its best year-round.
